Mukul Chhabra is a 25-year-old entrepreneur from Delhi who founded ScrapUncle. ScrapUncle is an online modern-day kabadiwala app which heisted the spotlight on Shark Tank India.

Most of us in urban cities face difficulty in dealing with kabadiwalas or scrap dealers. We are always stuck in bargaining with these scrap dealers. Not only us but the kabadiwalas face problems too. These problems faced by people and scrap dealers are due to a lack of organization and neglectance in this sector. Mukul Chhabra, who pitched ScrapUncle in Shark Tank India season 2 has a solution for all these problems.

ScrapUncle is a modern-day kabadiwala, who recently bagged a shark tank deal after long bidding. Amit Jain offered him Rs 60 lakhs for 5% equity. According to him, his mama was a scrap dealer and his work gave him the idea to make this a large-scale business.

ScrapUnlce offers works on the model of scrap recycling via an app and website. The users or customers can book trained and corroborated agents to collect scraps. The scrap can be collected from your home as well as offices. The model is very transparent which weighs the scrap accurately and provides the finest value for it, avered Mukul Chhabra. This startup also claims responsible recycling which would not harm the environment and automates the recycling process

Chhabra stated that ScrapUncle has completed over 22,000 pickups in the last two years from the Delhi-NCR region. This includes 14 lakh kgs of scrap which have been sent for recycling.

The journey from a Btech student to ScrapUncle

Mukul told that he graduated from IIIt Delhi and started his startup of drones. But eventually closed it as his partners left. “Scrap is jannat for me,” says Mukul. When he moved to Delhi, he found out that this sector lacks organization and management. After exploring all the scrap markets and doing a lot of research, Mukul founded ScrapUncle.

After it, Jain revised his offer and offered Rs 60 lakh for 5% equity. And then Amit Jain and Mukul made a deal.

From a Btech graduate to founder of ScrapUncle to dealing with Amit Jain, the journey involved many struggles but Mukul’s consistency, dedication, hard work and passion paid off to grab a deal of 60 lakhs. Also, his initiative to help scrap dealers and protect the environment added quality to the startup.
